Tamil Sangam

Welcome to the Melbourne University Tamil Sangam (MUTS)!

We are a student organization dedicated to promoting Tamil language, culture, heritage, and cuisine. We provide a sense of community and belonging for all students, regardless of their background. We host a variety of events and activities, including:

Cultural performances, such as dance, music, and theater
Social gatherings, such as potlucks, movie nights, and game nights
Traditional games, such as Kabaddi, Gilli Thandal, Pallanguzhi, Aadu Puli aattam, Nondi, Silambu, Goli, Dayakattai & lots more

We also provide a platform for Tamils from all over the world to connect with each other. Join us to explore the Tamil language and culture on campus!

Aims:

To promote the Tamil language, culture, and heritage, which are widely spread across the countries including India, Sri Lanka, Singapore, Malaysia and Mauritius.
To assist the students coming from the Tamil community to get adopted to the new environment, and to integrate with the University and local communities.
To act as a representative of the Tamil community, and to offer social well-being, mental and emotional support in terms of academics and health.
To promote inclusive growth by connecting members with professional networks through social and cultural events.
