Queen's College Music and Drama Society is proud to present "The Drowsy Chaperone".
The Drowsy Chaperone is a delightful musical within a comedy which will leave you with a smile on your face and a tune in your head. Guided by the man in chair, an antisocial and nostalgic theatre fan with a love for all things golden era, audiences are transported to the glitz, glamour and utter drama of 20's broadway. As the man listens to his record of the fictional 1928 musical, "The Drowsy Chaperone", the colourful, larger-than-life characters come to life onstage. A hilarious farce featuring weddings, roller skates, spit takes, showgirls and a little too much champagne ensues.
The Drowsy Chaperone runs for approximately 1.5 hours with no intermission.
We are pleased to partner with the Victorian Actors Benevolent Trust this year, a registered charity that financially supports artists and crew in times of crisis, such as illness or injury. As “The Drowsy Chaperone” is all about the joy that theatre can bring to people’s lives, we are very excited to give back to the arts community through this show. Half of our profits will go to VABT. We will also be driving donations to the VABT at the show in front of house areas.Music and lyrics by Lisa Lambert and Greg Morrison
Book by Bob Martin and Don McKellar
