The Crystalline Consciousness that Speaks Meaning into Flesh is an original show created by Dead End Collective, to be performed April 10th-13th, 2024 (week 6, after the mid-semester break).

The show is a zany homage to the murder mystery genre, stylistically defined by the visual and audio aesthetic of hyperpop. 

The Crystalline Consciousness follows 7 characters working on the Echo Hold, a long-haul cargo ship owned by the Eastern Planetary Supply Co. (EPSCO). The characters are awoken from cryosleep by a hull breach and find themselves confronted with an alien presence that resists all efforts of interpretation. As the pressure to deal with this creature mounts, crew members begin to die under mysterious circumstances, leading to a transcendent confrontation that will leave no one - and nothing - unchanged. An unknowable creature, the alien provides a scapegoat for the humans to malign, yet simultaneously allows for reflection upon their own society, including constructions of gender and class.
