UMSU Union House Theatre

Brought to you by the SSAF

You’ve chosen your play, cast your actors and booked the venue. You’re ready to start directing your show… Or are you?! Directing for theatre is super rewarding. However, there’s so much to do and so much to organize and often you’re left thinking ‘if only I’d left more time for this’ or ‘why didn’t I talk to my designer earlier’ or ‘how come everyone is looking at me for the answer’?!

Stop before you pull your hair out and come along to this Union House Theatre workshop with experienced director Cathy Hunt. Using a real-life directing example, Cathy will take students through the nuts and bolts of directing (i.e. the less ‘fun’ but extremely important stuff) and help you to work through planning rehearsal schedules, creating timelines, organizing good communication to help your process run as smoothly as possible.

This workshop is suitable for: theatre directors, production managers, stage managers,  student theatre groups or anyone interested in managing creative processes.
