Brought to you by the SSAF
We invite you to an open call for the Semester 2, UHT show: 'Unreliable'
Want to be part of a UHT show? That might mean performing, writing, researching, or behind the scenes! Join us for this very special development week. There will be designated times where students can drop in and hear about the project, research concepts and process. That might look something like – meeting the lead artists, running a few exercises together, discussing the process and having the chance to devise (or create) something playful on the floor.
Come along to the drop-in times to discover more about the process, or have a fun creative experience. You don't have to prepare anything or have any experience, just bring wear comfy clothes and get involved.
Student Drop-in Times:
Wednesday 16th April 4:00pm - 5:00pm
Thursday 17th April 3:00pm - 4:00pm
Venue:
Guild Theatre
About the show:
‘Unreliable’ researches...research! UHT’s developmental work will take the form of a lecture (a performed lecture) which gradually and playfully disintegrates as it slides carefully into chaotic contemporary performance about trust, truth and what (or who) we should believe.
‘Unreliable’ is a work made by students, alongside professional artists who support the process and help frame the experience. Many students love being involved in a project but don’t have the time or expertise to manage a project themselves. UHT will fill this gap by providing the infrastructure for a theatre work for students.
During Semester 2 over a full-time two-week rehearsal intensive, students research and devise material based on provocations set by facilitating artists. They are invited to work independently to create performance responses. After students have prepared individual performance works, these are then assembled into a full-length show.
