MUEEC 2026 Sem 1 Special General Meeting

Melbourne University Electrical Engineering Club (MUEEC) has invited you to our 2026 Sem 1 Special General Meeting (SGM).

At the SGM you will have your chance to run for a vacant position on the club committee, vote for the committee for the rest of this year, ask questions of the current committee to see what they’ve been doing, and give suggestions for things the club can do in the future. We ask that you consider attending even if you do not wish to run for any roles to help us meet quorum (minimum required attendees). We will be providing dinner!

Nominations will also occur during the SGM. If you are running for a position, please prepare a 1-minute introduction for the SGM introducing yourself and why you would like to run for the position, so we can get to know you! We look forward to seeing many of you there! If you have any questions, please email secretary@mueec.com.  In recent years we have struggled to fill all committee positions, so please consider applying for a role if you think you will have time to be involved. Being part of our committee is a great opportunity to meet new people, and contribute to the university community!

We highly encourage anyone interested in joining our committee to come forward and nominate themselves to take part in the MUEEC committee for the next year. The available positions are: 

Executive Committee: 

• President 

• Vice President 

• Secretary 

• Treasurer 

• Education Director

• ARRP Director 

General Committee: 

• ARRP Officer (x1) 

• Events Officer 

• Digital Media Officer (x2)

If you are running for a position, please prepare a short 1-minute introduction for the SGM to introduce yourself and explain why you would like to run for the position so that we can all get to know you. It will be 1 minute total per person, even if you are running for multiple positions. Nominations will be taken during the SGM, and self nominiations are accepted.

You MUST be a MUEEC member through the UMSU website for more than 5 days in order to vote at a club general meeting. If you are not a member or you are not sure whether you have signed up through the UMSU website, you can do so here. Additionally, to apply for a role on the executive committee, you must be in your second or later year, unless no other qualified candidate is nominated. Please read the constitution for detailed rules.
