Unhappily married and miserable at work, Ferdinand is fired and, growing more disenchanted with his life, begins an affair with an ex-lover, Marianne, before the pair are given chase by gangsters. Ferdinand and Marianne resolve to flee Paris for the Mediterranean, leading a hedonistic crime spree along the way.
Directed and co-written by the highly influential French new wave figure Jean-Luc Godard, Pierrot le Fou has been highly acclaimed after an initially unsuccesful release, rated among directors and critics as one of the top 100 films of all time. Pierot le Fou's colourful pop-art aesthetic, erratic editing, and heavily improvised script cultivate a uniquely spontaneous production.
