Winner of the Grand Prix at this year's Cannes Film Festival, and holding a score of 89 on Metacritic and 95% on Rotten Tomatoes, Sentimental Value is an intimate exploration of family, memories, and the power of art to both connect and estrange. Nora Borg (Renate Reinsve, of Trier's previous The Worst Person in the World) is an established Oslo stage actress and bachelorette, while her younger sister Agnes (Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas) is an academic historian who has chosen family life with her young son. When their largely absent filmmaker father, the once renowned Gustav (Stellan Skarsgård), attempts to cast Nora in his comeback film, old wounds reopen.
