Note that this week we're in a different room!

When: 3:15pm, Friday August 22
Where: G06 Theatre, Elisabeth Murdoch (Building 134)
Free: PIZZA and DRINKS! 🍕🥤

A multigenerational film about a Palestinian family in Nazareth, The Time that Remains spans from the Nakba's commemorated start in 1948 until recent times, and represents slices of the daily life of those Palestinians who remained in their land after its taking over by Israel and were labelled 'Israeli-Arabs', living as a minority in their homeland.

Based on his father's diaries, his mother's letters, and his own memories, and shot in places his family used to live, Suleiman uses his signature whimsical visual style and dark, ironic humour to portray the absurdity of his life in Nazareth and beyond, from occupied Palestine to similar places around the world. As the director has said of his work: "Humor itself is a form of resistance. When you make an audience laugh, you actually open their eyes to the issue on the screen. Laughter is against despair."
