Due to some unfortunate external circumstances, we have rescheduled our AGM to Friday the 15th of September at 4:15pm.
WHEN? – Friday 15th September, 2023
Join us from 3:30PM onwards for snacks and refreshments – The AGM will start at 4:15pm SHARP. Please arrive 15 minutes beforehand to secure a ticket.
WHERE? – Sidney Myer Asia Centre, Room 117
WHAT? – Free Turkish snacks and refreshments !! Stay with us after the AGM to get to know the new committee and end your Monday afternoon on a good note!

Some information about the AGM!
What is an AGM?
The AGM will allow MUTS members to democratically elect the new committee members for the upcoming year. All members are eligible to participate and nominate themselves (you must be a Unimelb student to be elected to the committee).
Why should you come to our AGM?
The AGM is your chance to have your say and contribute to forming our new committee! Joining this important event will help support MUTS's move into the upcoming. You'll also be able to socialise with your fellow club members and enjoy some music and free Turkish snacks!
Why should you join our committee?
We invite all interested members to nominate themselves to join the committee! You'll have the chance to organise fun events to spread Turkish culture to Unimelb students; meet and socialise with others and make friends; and be able to participate in club life at Unimelb!
Who can join our committee?
All members who are University of Melbourne students are eligible to join the committee. If you are not yet a member but would like to join, you can purchase a FREE membership on the UMSU Clubs and Societies website (see below!).
You must attend the AGM, either in person or via Zoom, to be successfully nominated.
If you are interested and would like to nominate yourself for a position, feel free to contact us on Instagram or at unimelbtr@gmail.com! (This is not required, but helps us know who's keen on the day.)
Club Aims
1. To introduce the Turkish culture to the students of the University of Melbourne through on-campus activities and events.
2. To facilitate dialogue between Turkish and Australian/non-Turkish background students.
3. To create an atmosphere for students to learn or practice their Turkish language skills.
4. To create a platform for international Turkish students to assist them to integrate to the University of Melbourne community.
Voting
Voting will follow UMSU requirements and the constitution valid at the time of the election. Positions available include:
President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, 3x General Committee Members
