Sexual Assault - Sexual Harm Workshop

The Responding to Disclosures workshop, run by the Sexual Harm Response and Coordination (SHRC) team at UMSU, equips students with the skills and confidence to respond supportively and appropriately when someone discloses experiences of sexual harm. The workshop is designed to foster a safer, more informed campus community by promoting trauma-informed and survivor-centred responses.

• Understanding sexual harm and its impacts
• The difference between disclosure and reporting
• How to listen with empathy and without judgment
• Practical strategies for responding to disclosures
• Setting boundaries and looking after your own wellbeing
• Referring someone to appropriate support services at the University and beyond
