Festival of Nations

2/04/2026–2/04/2026
12:00 PM–3:00 PM
Amphitheatre & Market Hall
UMSU People of Colour

Brought to you by the SSAF

Festival of Nations is a vibrant celebration of culture, community, and belonging at the University of Melbourne, proudly presented as the first major initiative of the UMSU POC Department. As a new step in building a more inclusive and representative campus, this event brings together students from all backgrounds to honour the diversity that shapes our university community.

Through cultural performances, club stalls, music, free food, and shared experiences, Festival of Nations creates a space where students can celebrate heritage, learn from one another, and connect across different identities and traditions. It is not only a showcase of cultures from around the world, but also a reflection of the UMSU POC Department’s commitment to creating meaningful opportunities for representation, engagement, and community-building on campus.

This event marks an important beginning: a statement that cultural diversity matters, that students deserve spaces where they feel seen and valued, and that the UMSU POC Department is committed to delivering initiatives that genuinely serve the student body. Festival of Nations is more than a celebration. It is the start of something bigger.
