Above Water Launch Party – 20th Anniversary Celebration

Join us for the highly anticipated launch of Above Water 2025 – marking 20 years of this iconic student-led publication!

Above Water is the University of Melbourne’s annual creative writing and art magazine, proudly co-presented by the Creative Arts and Media departments. It showcases the vibrant voices, bold imaginations, and artistic visions of student creators. From poetry to prose, illustration to photography, the magazine fosters experimental, inclusive, and powerful storytelling that reflects the diversity and creativity of our student community.

This launch party is not just a celebration of this year’s issue but of two decades of artistic expression. Expect:

  • Live readings of selected pieces from the magazine

  • Free copies of the 20th Anniversary edition to take home

  • An evening filled with music, dancing, laughter, and creative vibes

  • A chance to connect with contributors, editors, and fellow creatives

Let’s honour the past, celebrate the present, and toast to the future of Above Water together. You don’t want to miss this!
