Important Updates
1. Moving Updates — Not long now!

UMSU's relocation to Building-168 in the NSP is on track for Mon 26 Sept – Fri 30 Sept! All staff are advised to be finished with their checklists, packing, and labelling by Thurs 22 Sept.

The proposed moving breakdown throughout the week is: 

  • MON 26 SEPT
    Moving of all AVM equipment from Union House to G23/25 A&C BLDG
  • WED 28 SEPT
    Moving of all AVM equipment from Union House to G23/25 A&C BLDG
  • THU 29 SEPT
    Office and CME move
  • FRI 30 SEPT
    Office and CME move

2. Basecamp Responsibilities — Response times on jobs

To ensure projects are delivered by your desired date, please make sure you're responsive to CME on your Basecamp jobs! A reminder that if we don't hear from you in over 72 hours, we will be putting your job on HOLD so we can keep the other jobs in our queue moving. There are currently over 50 Basecamp projects in the CME queue, so jobs placed on hold may not be able to be delivered by their original date. 

If there's something causing a delay in your responses,  please visit the Help Desk or email Comms so that CME might be able to assist you .


3. FREE IRL WALLPAPER?!— Come collect your Sem 1 A1 posters!

Before we do our big ol' cleanout for the move, we'd like to invite all departments to pick up any of the A1 posters they wish to keep from the last semester! They can make awesome decorations for office walls and can be a bright, colourful reminder (and lowkey advertisement) of all the amazing things your department has hosted and achieved so far this year!

Pick up from the Comms Office (Level 4, Union House) by 4pm Wed 24 Aug.

(Just note that not all posters are guaranteed to have survived display, sorry!)

4. Mon 22 August — Don't forget: CME closed for review!

Reminder that CME will be unavailable on Mon 22 Aug due to our ongoing service review. Support will not be available on this day and may be reduced while we work through solutions for improved service provision.

5. Thurs 25 August — Union House Theatre Farewell

UHT would like to invite you all to an informal celebration on the stage of the Union Theatre as we say a big farewell to the original theatre venues in Union House! RSVP essential.

When: Thurs 25 Aug, 4.30-6.30pm.
Where: Union Theatre (original one), Union House.

6. New Staff — Welcome Nataly!

A very warm welcome to Nataly Castellanos (she/her) who will be joining UMSU as our new Events Operations Officer on Tuesday. Make sure to say hi if you see Nataly around!

Need to make a booking at the Ida? Please make sure to submit any booking requests using our NEW online booking system NOT via email. Book HERE.

Online bookings for the pop-up bar and food/alcohol packages coming soon...
