Yep, you read that right! We've only got 7 business days left in our beloved Union House before the rest of UMSU moves to the NSP. All staff are advised to be finished with their checklists, packing, and labelling by Wed 21 Sept.

A reminder that the delivery of our usual services (i.e. Info Desk, CME, Advocacy & Legal, AVM) will be disrupted due to the move.  
 
There will also be a potential opportunity to visit the new space before moving date, watch this space for updates! 

Check the Relocation Page on the Intranet for all important info you may need, including what packing materials can be found where, moving timelines, building updates, and what to bring/what to leave (see here).

2. Keeping your webpages current — Ditch old info and dead links

We've noticed a lot of department pages on the website still contain outdated information and broken links. Please make sure your department is reviewing and updating its content regularly to avoid confusing any students who visit your pages. Thanks!

Following the recent announcement from the Federal Government, both UMSU and UniMelb will be closed for the public holiday on Thurs 22 Sept. We'll also be closed on the following day, Fri 23 Sept, for the AFL Grand Final holiday. Hello 4-day weekend!

What about events?
If your department has an event scheduled for Thurs 22 Sept, it will likely need to change venues or be rescheduled. Please get in touch with CME via your Basecamp jobs if you need support with contingency planning. 

If you have any questions or concerns about these holiday closures, please speak to your manager or contact People & Culture here.

If your department wants to host an event at the Ida, please make sure to submit your booking at least two weeks in advance to secure your desired date. Also, a reminder that your department is responsible for placing this booking, not CME staff.

5. UMSU is GROWING — Lots of recruitment happenin' now!

The Good News is...the Rowdy has a PS5! We currently have FIFA22, Overcooked, Elden Ring, Sifu and Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2 available to play (or you can bring your own game in). 

Bookings work the same way as for the Gaming PCs: reservations on the hour, and you get at least an hour to play. Student or staff card required!
