Important Updates
1. Reminder — If you are Exposed to Covid

UMSU is requesting any staff member stay home for at least 72 hours if they discover they have been exposed to Covid.  You can still be super contagious without being symptomatic or positive.

Deadlines / Dates
2. Friday 25 November — Collect Your Department A1 posters

If your department had any A1 posters printed for distro during Semester 2, you can come to collect them from the *new* CME office on Level 4 of Building 168. Enjoy a funky memento of your department's achievements this semester, plus use them to liven up your office! 🤩 

*Note that we can't guarantee that we have every single one! Sometimes they do not survive being displayed.



3. Thursday 1 December — The Ida Bar Closing

That's right peeps. The Ida Bar is closing on 1 December in preparation for the official closing of Union House on 16 December 2022.

4. Website — Emojis and International Characters

A limited suite of emojis and international characters have been added to the website to use when you create your content. To use them, log in to the website and go to the page you want to edit. Select "Edit page" and you will see a and an Ω appear at the end of the toolbar!



Clicking on brings up the emojis toolbar. Just click on the emoji you want to use in your content.

5. Wedding — Carolyn's Son is Married!

Some may remember Carolyn’s son Joel as a Student casual around Union House. Joel moved to Perth after graduating, where he met and fell in love with Mel Chen. Last week was their wedding day and all had a wonderful time.



6. Great Feedback — Thanks Kay!

It's lovely when staff are called out for the fabulous work they do. Rebecca Bywater, PRT from UniMelb recently reached out to Carolyn to say what a fabulous job Kay was doing. 

"Some unsolicited feedback on Kay. They are bloody brilliant. I really appreciate their style of engagement. Great at building rapport through empathy ...Just had a pleasant exchange with them, hence this random message. I hope you're having a good weekend!"
