Important Updates
1. Last week of Union House — Access and required actions

Our beloved Union House will close at COB this Friday 16 Dec. After this date, access will need to be arranged through formal channels.

Before Friday, there are several things that need to be done:
  • Any confidential documents need to be fetched or disposed. We will organise a confidential disposal bin on Level 1 outside the lifts.
  • All UH keys must be returned. You can drop them off at Info Desk at Building 168. Please label with your name and what the key belongs to!
  • Anything left at UH that you want to bring over/save will need to be done before Friday.
  • Office Bearers, if you would like access to your department's old office, please contact Ciara for access ASAP.
  • Please keep an eye on your inboxes over the next few days as we work through any other actions needed in the vacating process!
A sad farewell it will be, and thank you to everyone who has helped out over the past few months.

2. SummerFest Update — New minutes now available

Make sure you read the minutes of the SummerFest Steering Group to keep up to date on changes and additions to the SummerFest agenda. They're at the bottom of the page under the Steering Group section.

☀️ SF Theme: Friends and summer vibes.☀️

SummerFest Event Applications are now open. Please read the Playbook in full before starting the application process (under "Apply Now"). Once you've completed your application, your event idea will be reviewed by the SummerFest Steering Group.

There will be Zoom Meetings next week with Dee to go over SummerFest process and answer any questions. Stay tuned for details.

3. New Staff and OBs — Please log into the website

Calling all new staff, Councillors and New OBs to login to the UMSU website using your UNION username and password. Once this has been completed, CME can transfer the website access from your student username to your staff username. Please do so asap, it should only take a moment of your time.

4. Provide your feedback!— How did we do at induction?

Thanks so much to those who managed to attend the CME induction session on Tuesday last week. We'd love to know how well we did (or not!). It'll only take a few minutes of your time.

All feedback is totally anonymous. Be honest—we can take it. ✌️

The survey is HERE.

5. 2Swipe, 2Furious — Swipe card access adjusted at 168

Good news! For those who have offices and spaces where lots of people might be coming and going who perhaps don't have swipe card access, security have now turned on 2swipe for most doors in Building 168. This means that if you tap your staff card twice, the reader will turn green and make a long tone, and the door will stay unlocked. To lock again, simply repeat the same process.

If you're having any issues with it, give Tim a yell.
