A puff of breath
rumbles the ageing
Tatsu
perched on elongated talons
combing mighty moustaches,
scaled atop the world.

Bubbling and flowing
whispers to wallowing nothing.
Circular shapes blooming
one over the other
reforming depthlessly.

Only men now.
They look out,
over a river.
Standing,
leaning on red wood
railing against weary
haoris.
Tobacco sucked in,
puffed out
drawing
shapes in the sun.

Alien distance from me, yet
it needs only
whisper
in my ear, landing on
norse-loving myth,
and childish
Suess-like fantasy.
