Yang Ran focuses on the relationship between individual life experience and subjective rationality in social ethics, as well as the complex interweaving of multiple interpretations of the universe and the contemporary process. She strives to summon and organize innovative survival mechanisms for individuals with public strategies, repeatable practices and imagination to participate in society. Her work involves social action, exhibitions, event planning, performance, video experimentation, games and critical writing. She usually takes a hypothetical situation, using historical events and local perceptions as the first scene. Use participatory design, media interaction, etc., she engages in public practices and discussions within socio-cultural settings.
