Week 2 Screening - The Graduate (1967)

This week, in collaboration with MUBI, we're screening the 1967 classic comedy/drama The Graduate.

After returning home, recent college graduate Benjamin Braddock gets embroiled in an affair with family friend Mrs Robinson. Avoiding the inevitable question of what he wants to do with his life, Benjamin is torn when he falls in love with Elaine, Mrs Robinson's daughter.
Highly lauded upon release, The Graduate won best director at the academy awards and a Grammy for the soundtrack, with original songs performed by folk-rock duo Simon & Garfunkel. The Graduate has continued to be celebrated in the years following its release, with contemporary reviews affirming the praise the title has received, and in 1996 the film was selected for preservation by the United States National Film Registry.
