Thank you to everyone who nominated so many awesome films for our Week 12 screening! The results of voting are now in and the top dog, or rather, top cat, of this semester's People's Choice Round by popular demand is: Japanese filmmaker Nobuhiko Obayashi's comedy-fantasy-horror film House! 🏯 An excellent choice.

When: 3:00pm, Friday May 30
Where: 353 Cinema Space in Arts West (PAR-148A-L3-353-Interactive Cinema Space (60))
Free: PIZZA and DRINKS before the film! 🍕🥤

Hoping to find a sense of connection to her late mother, Gorgeous takes a trip to the countryside to visit her aunt at their ancestral house. She invites her six friends, Prof, Melody, Mac, Fantasy, Kung Fu, and Sweet, to join her. But the girls soon discover that there is more to the old house than meets the eye.

Inspired by ideas from Obayashi’s young daughter Chigumi, starring a cast of mostly amateur actors, and with special effects made to look as if a child created them, this phantasmagorical movie- already a box office hit in Japan upon its initial release- has become a cult classic among young people around the world. A houseful of fun, we can see why you picked it!

After the movie, we'll head to the pub for discussion and drinks to see out the sem. 🍻
