Society for Astronomy at Melbourne University (SAMU)
Human kind have been gazing skyward for millennia, always obsessed and gazing deep into the night sky. Few cultures were so impacted - nor so influential on the history of Western Astronomy as the Egyptians, whose tools, systems and constellations span time to even us today...
Join us this Friday for a brand new SAMU event... in collaboration with the amazing guys over at The University Of Melbourne's Egyptian Club (UMEC)!
Learn about the incredible innovations the Egyptians performed in Astronomy, it's deep history and how their society was constructed around it. From the Nile to the Pyramids, the stars were there in every aspect of Ancient Egyptian Life.
Additionally, learn the game that the Gods gambled on the moon over, drink the teas of the ancients and learn the names of the Egyptian constellations, all in one very special evening!
When: Friday, 22nd of May
Where: Arts West Room 253 (PAR-148A-L2-253-Collaborative Learning Space)
