1. UMSU Move to the NSP — We *finally* have some moving dates!

That's right, folks! At this stage, UMSU is aiming to move during the Semester 2 non-teaching period (26 Sept- 2 Oct). This will minimise disruption to our scheduled activities (such as our Annual Elections) and the other services we provide students.

More information about the NSP and UMSU's relocation can be found HERE. We'll continue to add any updates to this page, so make sure to check in regularly!

2. *NEW* Original UMSU Typeface — Help us choose its name!

Our incredible Design team have created an original UMSU font for us to use in all our promotion and branding. The only problem? It needs a name!

Check out the new font and throw your idea for its name into the ring HERE by Fri 3 June 12pm (midday). In next week's Staff News, we'll be circulating a poll with all the name suggestions for everyone to vote on!

Good News Stories
Advocacy — Smashing their new service model!

In the midst of trialling a new service model, our advocates have still managed to keep response times short and deliver a service in a hybrid way despite towering individual caseloads. They’ve also managed this during an extended period of both planned/unplanned leave within their ranks. Great job team!

Info Desk  Acknowledging the amazing Kay going above and beyond!

Kay spent an hour and a half after hours helping an international student at Info Desk last week. The student was at the airport to fly home, but once they got there, they found they were COVID-positive. In desperation, having no money, nowhere to go and unable to board their flight, they returned to campus where Kay spent until 6:30pm finding free, available emergency accommodation for this student.

Thank you, Kay, for being your wonderful, compassionate self (but please look after your own health too! ??)

CME — Pretty pretty pretty!

Are you loving our WinterFest branded Staff News? Thanks to CME for putting their collective heads and talents together and coming up with this very readable and beautiful Staff News template. Huzzah!
