Sifting through local and global histories of Concrete Poetry (visual poetic forms that make use of typography and assemblage) this workshop introduces and expands the genre in an open, accessible and experimental two-hour session in the Rowden White Library.

Reading and observing together, attendees will emerge from the workshop with their own concrete poem, drawn from experimentations with analogue and digital modes of making. From cut ups, drawing, Microsoft Word, scans and projections, participants will work between visual and textual poetic forms.

No experience with poetry or visual art necessary!
