UMAC Artist Development Award

Win $2500 for further development of an artist and their work. The awardee also has the opportunity to be mentored by UMAC staff over the following 12 months (2025).

UMAC Artist Development Award

A new award established in 2024 that recognises an emerging performing artist who has demonstrated capacity to create innovative work within the University of Melbourne student theatre community.

University of Melbourne Arts and Culture (UMAC) presents, curates and commissions inspiring and entertaining arts experiences throughout the year at the award-winning cultural precinct at the University.

They are offering an award of $2500 to encourage further development of an artist and their practice.

The awardee also has the opportunity to be mentored by UMAC staff over the following 12 months (2025).
 

Criteria for selection:

To apply you must be a local or international student currently enrolled at The University of Melbourne, you may be a graduating or a continuing student.

You will have participated in extra-curricular student theatre or performances on campus over the year (2024).

 

Applications:

Closing Date midnight, Sunday 13 October.

Please email applications to artistic@union.unimelb.edu.au with the subject “UMAC Award”

Electronic applications should consist of the following:

  • One-page resume with contact details
  • A statement clearly detailing the steps you plan to take to develop your practice over the coming 12 months. (250 words)
