How to Get Here
Union House is located within the University of Melbourne Parkville campus on the corner of Tin Alley and Union Rd.
As you walk down Tin Alley from the Swanston Street entrance (Gate 1), Union House is located on the left opposite the Sports Centre.
The Union Theatre is on the ground floor.
The Guild Theatre is on level 1.
The Union House Theatre Office is on level 1.
Via Swanston St: Catch any Swanston St tram to Stop 1 – Melbourne University tram stop and walk up to the Tin Alley entrance (Gate 1).
Walk down Tin Alley and turn left into Union Road, Union House will be immediately on your right.
Drop-offs and Accessible Parking
You can drop off audience members and performers via Tin Alley.
Enter via Gate 1 on Swanston St.
Drive down Tin Alley and Union House is halfway down on the left.
There is a drop off roundabout so you can turn around and go back out to Swanston St.
Please note: Gate 14 – (Corner of Tin Alley and Royal Parade entrance) is for pedestrians and cyclists only
There are four accessible parks available outside Union House marked by light blue circle on this map:
We recommend that you plan to make a drop off in case all of the accessible parks are in use. If you park in the accessible park you may need to purchase a ticket from the machine and display that alongside your disabled parking permit. For more details see here.
Unfortunately, being in the middle of campus means that there are no car parks available directly outside Union House.
For details of the public car parks on campus see the Uni’s Parking on Campus webpage
In the evenings there is often free street parking to be found around the Uni but you may need to allow extra time to drive around and find a park (the Lygon St, Carlton area can be quite busy) and be prepared to walk a fair distance from your car to the venue.
Please note that Grattan Street (between Royal Parade and Leicester Street) and Barry Street (between Pelham Street and Grattan Street) are closed to vehicles for up to five years due to the Metro Tunnel Project.
