Effective Altruism
EA UniMelb cordially invites you to our annual public lecture at the University of Melbourne. Peter Singer, Emeritus Professor of Bioethics at Princeton and author of Animal Liberation and The Life You Can Save, is speaking on Profit for Good: what happens when a business gives away its profits to effective charities instead of paying shareholders.
He'll also take on the hard questions the idea raises, including how it compares with giving directly to top charities. He'll then be joined by Adam Semple, co-owner of Fluffy Torpedo, an ice cream business that gives to The Life You Can Save, for a conversation and audience Q&A.
When: Thursday 15 October, doors 6pm, talk 6:30pm
Where: David P. Derham Theatre, Law Building, University of Melbourne
Cost: Free
