TEMPORARY CLOSURE / 23 March to 20 April 2020
Dear student community and AVMelbourne clients
In light of the emerging COVID-19 situation the University is implementing social distancing designed to support a broader campaign to manage the spread of Covid-19. Based on this advice, AVMelbourne will close for business and be suspending its services commencing Monday 23 March. This is as a precautionary measure to help slow the spread of COVID-19 and play our small part in the global response to the spread of the virus. The suspension will remain in effect until 20 April.
AVMelbourne staff will be operating remotely, online, during this suspension of service so we will be able to respond to booking enquiries for production and/or hires after Mon 20 April 2020 along with any other general enquiries.
The re-opening date may change so bookings that are made after this date may also be affected by this potential change, clients will be contacted by email if this occurs.
AVMelbourne and UMSU will continue to follow expert health advice and continue to make decisions about its activities which are in the best interests of the health, safety and wellbeing of the entire student community.
AVMelbourne thank you all for your support and patience as we work through these issues.
We also understand that this is a difficult and stressful time for everyone and we encourage you to check in on each other and to continue to monitor and comply with public health advice.
Keep an eye on our website for any updates, follow the advice on The University of Melbourne’s website, and if your studies are being directly impacted please remember that you can reach out to UMSU Advocacy for advice and assistance.
Additional information is available on the Victorian Government Department of Health and Human Services and Australian Government Department of Health websites.
