UMSU November 2025 Byelection
Voting information
- Voting is online: your ballot will be sent to your student email address on the morning of Monday, 17th November.
- Voting closes at 1pm Wednesday 19th November (Melbourne time). Late votes can‘t be accepted.
- If you need help, there will be a polling help point on the Burnley campus:
- 11:30–2:30 Monday 17th November
- 11:30–2:30 Tuesday 18th November
- 10:00–1:00 Wednesday 19th November
- Candidate information is available on the ballot.
- You are entitled to vote in private: candidates and their campaigners can approach you to canvass your vote, but mustn’t be near you while you’re voting.
- Complaints: Any complaints should be sent to the Returning Officer (contact details below).
- The Returning Officer is responsible for running the election. If you need help voting or have any questions, please ask at the polling help point, or email us

Notice
Notice is hereby given of a byelection for:
- Burnley Campus Coordinator (1 position to elect)
- Burnley Campus Committee (7 positions to elect)
Note that only students enrolled at the Burnley campus are eligible to nominate and vote for these positions.
Polling will take place from 10 am on Monday 17 November to 1pm on Wednesday 19 November. A ballot will be sent to all eligible students, that is, students enrolled at the Burnley campus.

Returning Officer contact details
The election is run by an impartial Returning Officer, who is independent of UMSU and the University, and answers to the Electoral Tribunal. For this election, the Returning Officer is Stephen Luntz of Above Quota Elections Pty Ltd.
