Recycling Performance

Take part in hands-on workshops that unpack the last 20 years of student theatre on campus. Get creative, make friends and have fun whilst learning how to develop your own original ideas for performance.

  • This four-week workshop series will provide tools for performance making, working collaboratively, connecting to your creative voice, and learning how to translate your ideas into tangible projects.

  • We will explore the traces of theatre history on campus, looking at production posters, photos, archival video and programs.

  • We will explore ideas around the role of performance documentation and how it allows us to access this history, and how much our understanding of it is shaped by what has been recorded, and what has been left out.

About the process

Exploring the archive together, facilitators Liv Satchell and Arabella Frahn-Starkie will guide you through a process of exploring your own creativity through the material you uncover. Meeting weekly as a group, you will get to try out a range of creative processes for translating your ideas into new performance material.
