Would you like to develop employable and creative skills while working in a fun theatre setting?

Become a Union House Theatre volunteer! Join our volunteering program for committed volunteers in 2026. You'll assist with UHT events, get transferable skills for the job market, and get a Melbourne Plus badge. 

What will I do as a volunteer?
You'll commit to a 3-4 hour volunteering session each fortnight. You'll work across various areas of UHT including: 

• Ushering and carrying out Front of House tasks for shows in the venues
• Supporting activities in the set building workshop and backstage 
• Helping Student Theatre Groups who need occasional support for events
• Marketing and promotional activities for UHT

You will receive training and be supported by the UHT staff department and Student Theatre Group (where relevant). You'll also get to make new friends and learn skills in this welcoming and social environment.
