How to get here

The Arts & Cultural Building is located within the University of Melbourne Parkville campus on the corner of Monash Road and Porters Lane.

As you walk down Monash Rd from the Swanston Street entrance (Gate 4), the Arts & Cultural Building is located on the left just after the Student Pavillion.

The Union Theatre and the Guild Theatre are both on Level 2. The Union House Theatre Office is on Level 3.

 

Public Transport

Catch any Swanston St tram to Stop 1 – Melbourne University tram stop and walk up to the Monash Rd entrance (Gate 4). Walk down Monash Rd, the Arts & Cultural building will be on your left.

Union Theatre
  • Crying Room with accessible lift
  • Wheelchair access and seating
  • Hearing assist system, and infrared pendants are available and may be collected from Box Office prior to performance
Guild Theatre

General Building
  • Elevators, escalators and staircases allow for various access paths to Level 2 theatres
  • There are accessible toilets available in the Arts & Cultural Building on all levels
Companion Card

Union House Theatre are affiliated with the Companion Card program for people with significant permanent disability who are unable to attend most community events without a companion.
All event organisers will issue a Companion Ticket, at no charge, to cardholders.

 

Car Parking

Please note that Grattan Street (between Royal Parade and Leicester Street) and Barry Street (between Pelham Street and Grattan Street) are closed to vehicles for up to five years due to the Metro Tunnel Project.

Drop-offs and Accessible Parking

You can drop off audience members and performers via Monash Rd.
Enter via Gate 4 on Swanston St.
There is a roundabout so you can turn around and go back out to Swanston St.

We recommend that you plan to make a drop-off as the closest car park is the Eastern Precinct (park at the south end near Faraday St). For more details see Parking on Campus.
