In June 2022, The George Paton Gallery moved from Union House to its new location in the Arts and Cultural Building on Monash Road in the New Student Precinct at Parkville campus. We are opening our application round for exhibitions in the new space for semester two 2023 and invite you to come and talk to us about your ideas for a show in the gallery.

The new space is 5.670 - 6.625 metres wide and 22.360 metres long. There is a built in niche for invigilating the gallery as you enter, a store room off the gallery and a lift that takes you and your artwork into the storage space off the gallery.
Exhibitions are divided into Entrance and Main galleries, with the Entrance Space being for solo exhibitions and the Main Gallery for group and curated exhibitions.
This is an exciting opportunity for students to exhibit free in a custom made space in the centre of cultural activity at the New Student Precinct. The Arts and Culture building also houses the Arts Lab next door to the GPG and Union House Theatres and rehearsal spaces, and Arts and Culture staff offices, including the office of our Creative Arts officers.
Please contact us at gpg@union.unimelb.edu.au if you have questions, or wish to make a time to come and chat to us about your ideas for an exhibition. Exhibitions are free. We welcome ideas for projects that engage viewers and exhibitors, experiment with form and concept and push us beyond what we know.
