Workshops

The UMSU Sexual Harm and Response Coordinators run workshops with students that aim to prevent
sexual violence and initmate partner violence. On this page you can find out more about our:

Registrations UMSU Club and Society for Semester 2, 2025 are not open. They will open by the 21st of July, 2025. 

Club and Society Workshops

To recieve funding UMSU affliated clubs and societies must have one committee member and one executive complete the online module and then a training on Bystander Intervention or Responding to Disclosures. 

 

Clubs and Societies planning to run camps must have 1 leader per 20 attendees complete the training. 

 

Registration
To attend an in-person workshop, you will need to complete an online module. You cannot register for your in-person workshop until you have completed the online module. 

  1. You self-enrol in the online module via this link.

  2. The page for registering for workshops is available on the online Canvas module after you complete the module. 

  3. Once you have registered for a workshop, you will receive a confirmation email with further details about the workshop location. Workshops run for 90 minutes and are held on the Parkville campus

Frequently Asked Questions

When does UMSU check if Clubs and Societies are compliant? 

Compliance is checked based on when most clubs or societies hold their Annual General Meetings. Most clubs run their Annual General Meetings in August/September, therefore we check compliance in December. 

 

Can I participate if I am not a club or society leader? 

Any student at the University of Melbourne can register and participate.

 

Are there any exemptions for UMSU Clubs and Societies?

If you have completed a similar training and have evidence of this, you can send it through to workshops-shrc@union.unimelb.edu.au and request an exemption.
