Submission Guidelines — Bands

KEY DATES

  • TASTINGS: TOGETHER 2024 submissions are OPEN from 27 May 2024
  • Submissions CLOSE 29 July 2024 at 11:59pm AEST.
  • Battle of the Bands will be held on Friday 23 August 2024.

ELIGIBILITY

  • Performances need to be between 10-20 minutes.
  • Submissions are limited to current University of Melbourne students.
  • As part of your submission, please submit a sample of your work via an audio file, Youtube, Spotify or any other relevant link.
  • Please include all relevant information in your entry form. This includes all band members, all instruments and equipment, and any special requirements in the “Q10”. Please note any special requirements will need to be discussed with CA and UMSU.

ARTISTS AGREE TO 

  • Bring your own instruments and inform us of any specific equipment requirements in your submission form as above.
  • Allow UMSU support staff to position your instrument if necessary.  
  • Grant the non-exclusive rights to UMSU to use your artwork on the UMSU website and its social media platforms.

UMSU CREATIVE ARTS DEPARTMENT AGREES TO

  • UMSU will be providing a standard backline of 1 drum kit, 1 bass amp and 2 guitar/instrument amps. If you require any additional equipment, you will be expected to supply it at your own expense.
  • Acknowledge the artist as the creator of the work in publications in which the works are included.

BY SUBMITTING, YOU WARRANT THAT

  • Prior to entering the work, you have gained the consent of all identifiable persons featured in the work.
  • The entry is your own original work.
  • Entries must not contain any material that is defamatory, obscene, indecent, harassing or threatening or is otherwise unlawful. UMSU reserves the right to screen and reject submissions as it deems fit.
