Peer Safety Crew

The UMSU Peer Safety Crew seeks to provide agenda-free and fact-based advice, assistance and education to students experiencing or curious about the adverse affects of alcohol and other drugs (AOD) while at parties and events.

Our friendly and helpful crew members are all trained to assist when situations arise that party-goers might need help, and will do so in a judgment-free, discreet manner.

Why become a Peer Safety Crew member?

There are many reasons for becoming a Peer Safety Crew member. Some of the major benefits are:

  • Training in first-aid, AOD harm reduction, and sexual harm response, and the opportunity to practice that training
  • Providing education and advice to students on these topics
  • Providing assistance to students in at-risk situations at parties and events
