Exam Support

Exam Support Stall

Everyone needs a bit of help come exam time, and the Exam Support Stall is designed to provide just that.

Since 2006, volunteers, student representatives and UMSU staff have provided support to students through a vibrant stall during the exam period (June and November).

Volunteers are trained to answer any questions exam goers may have and to offer advice and guidance to help students get through exam day.

Exam Support Stalls are set up at the following locations:

  • Royal Exhibition Building
  • Wilson Hall
  • Kwong Lee Dow Building

The stall also provides free exam essential items including:

  • pens, correction tape, and tissues for those who had a brain fade and left the important stuff at home
  • fresh fruit
  • Chupa Chups
  • advice on where to get help if needed

What do I have to do?

As a volunteer, you can answer a range of questions, such as the location of facilities, and where to get help with special consideration and academic misconduct issues. You may need to refer students to Student Union and University services such as the Advocacy Service or the Health Service. You will distribute free exam supplies and work with other volunteers to set up and pack down the equipment.

Over the three weeks exam period in June and November, we ask that you volunteer for at least two shifts at times that suit you. Shifts are (generally) for 1.5 hours:

  • Shift 1: 7:15am – 8:45am
  • Shift 2: 11:15am - 12:45pm
  • Shift 3: 3:15pm - 4:45pm
