Street Dance: W_acking
Join Lexi from MUSD for a FREE 4-week, beginner friendly W_acking course for uni students!
Participants will learn about the foundations and history of W_acking, with the opportunity to explore freestyle in a supportive and beginner-friendly environment! Supported by Cypher Culture and Union House Theatre.
Through each session you'll progress your skills to finish with a low-key dance battle in the studio with Lexi. The first two workshops focus on foundations of W_acking, the second two workshops help you to build your confidence for performance.
Come to one session, or come to them all!
Please ensure you wear clothes that you can comfortably move in, and closed-toe shoes.

About Lexi
Lexi is a Naarm-based movement artist and performer of Taiwanese heritage. Their dance practice is rooted in the street dance styles of Waacking and Voguing, spanning freestyle,choreography, and creative direction. They see dance as a powerful and authentic medium for expressing feelings and identity beyond words.
Lexi is a member of Burncity W_ack, Naarm's local waacking community, and currently serves as President of Melbourne Uni Street Dance (MUSD). Since 2023, they have organised workshops, community initiatives, and battle events, including U-Jam Vol.1 and Vol.2.
