Get ready for some healthy competition and the chance to make new friends. Press Play is a new festival, celebrating all things play. Presented by UHT and UMSU Clubs and Societies, this mini-fest of dance, theatre and gaming is set to take over Level 2 of the Arts & Cultural Building (159) from Wed 5 - Sat 8 August. With workshops, arcade games, karaoke and so much more, you won't want to miss this!
Enjoy FREE arcade and tabletop games as well as art installations and giveaways daily from 11am.

WED 5 AUG: 1-2.30pm
First, the Flare Dance crew will show you how it's done and you'll watch a short performance of premiere student choreography. Next, it's your turn! Taking inspiration from the performance you just watched you'll explore some dance basics and grooves guaranteed to make you a star on the dance floor.
No experience? No problem!
This class is all about building confidence, meeting new people, and having a blast while staying active. This is a great opportunity if you've always wanted to start learning how to dance! And make new friends along the way!

This isn't just a Taylor Swift karaoke night—it's a celebration of music, friendship, and singing your heart out. Bring your friends, request your go-to karaoke hit, cheer on fellow performers, and enjoy an evening full of iconic songs, unforgettable moments, and good vibes.

Let's Play is an interactive workshop that blends roleplaying, improvisation, and collaborative worldbuilding into one fun, beginner-friendly session. Through classic drama games and role-playing activities, you'll learn how to create a welcoming space for play, step into character, and build confidence through imagination and movement.
Then, you'll team up with other participants to design a new world from scratch. Together you'll create its people, places, and stories before bringing it to life through collaborative games and creative play.
No theatre, role-playing, or tabletop gaming experience is needed! Bring your curiosity, creativity, and a willingness to say "yes, and..."
