Join the MUDfest Production Team!
We’re looking for a creative, organised and strategy-minded student to shape the public face of MUDfest 2025 as Marketing Director.
🎯 Role Focus Areas

Brand & Campaign Strategy – set the look, tone and messaging of the festival across all platforms

Digital Content & Social Media – plan, schedule and produce engaging posts, stories, reels and newsletters

PR & Partnerships – liaise with media outlets, student channels and arts partners for maximum reach

Asset & Deadline Management – coordinate with the UMSU Design team, printers and sponsors to keep everything on-brand and on-time

Volunteer Leadership – recruit and mentor a small crew of marketing volunteers
📅 Festival & Work Timeline

Festival dates: 19 – 23 August 2025

Key venues: Arts & Cultural Building (BN 159), Student Pavilion (BN 162), Market Hall (BN 189), Festival Hub @ IDA Bar (BN 168)

Full availability required: 11 – 29 August 2025 (bump-in, festival week, pack-down)

Typical load: ~2–4 hrs/week Feb → July, increasing in the four weeks pre-festival
💰 Remuneration
This is a contracted position with flexible work arrangements.
Flat project fee: $1,500 (paid in three instalments).
🌟 Key Selection Criteria

Currently enrolled University of Melbourne student (including VCA & Conservatorium)

Proven interest or experience in marketing, communications or media (on-campus or external)

Strong copy-writing skills and familiarity with social-media management tools (e.g. Meta Business Suite, Later, Mailchimp)

Ability to translate the 2025 festival theme — “Refraction: One Self, Many Reflections” — into compelling public messaging

Excellent planning, communication and problem-solving abilities

Collaborative mindset and confidence working with creatives, designers and volunteers
