Moss Meditations

A three day performance installation with UMSU’s Artist in Residence Gregory Lorenzutti.

This playful work explores moss time in contrast to the urgency of human time. We invite you to linger. To sit quietly.

Moss inhabits the edges of our everyday lives: gathering on stone walls, spreading across forest floors, emerging between cracks in sidewalks. Soft, porous, resilient. A miniature ecosystem held close to the ground.

For three days, these ancient vegetal performers take up residence in the foyer of the Arts and Culture building, creating a space for quiet encounter between human and more-than-human bodies.

Come closer.

For a moment, perhaps, we can enter moss time.
