Join the MUDfest Production Team!
We’re seeking one enthusiastic MUDfest Volunteering Coordinator (unpaid volunteer role) to recruit, roster and support the crew powering MUDfest 2025, the University of Melbourne Student Union’s flagship student-run arts festival.
🔧 Role Focus Areas

Volunteer Recruitment & On-boarding – design the call-out, run info sessions and match volunteers to front-of-house, tech, artist support and logistics roles.

Rostering & Communication – build clear shift schedules, circulate briefings and keep everyone in the loop via email, Slack/Discord and on-site announcements.

Training & Welfare – plan induction workshops, create handy guides and ensure every volunteer feels safe, informed and valued.

Festival-Week Leadership – act as first point of contact for 100+ volunteers, troubleshoot issues and celebrate team achievements.

Collaboration – liaise daily with Creative Producers, Production staff and venue managers to forecast and meet staffing needs.
📅 Festival & Work Timeline

Festival dates: 19 – 23 August 2025

Key venues: Arts & Cultural Building (BN 159) ▪ Student Pavilion (BN 162) ▪ Market Hall (BN 189) ▪ Festival Hub @ IDA Bar (BN 168)

Full availability required: 11 – 29 August 2025 (bump-in, festival week, pack-down)

Typical load: ~2 – 4 hrs/week Feb → July, rising steadily through August.

Currently enrolled University of Melbourne student (including VCA & Conservatorium).

Strong interpersonal, organisational and problem-solving skills.

Proven experience or keen interest in volunteer management, events or community projects.

Ability to embody and promote the 2025 festival theme — “Refraction: One Self, Many Reflections.”

Calm, collaborative attitude under pressure and commitment to inclusive practice.
