Role Spotlight

The Coordinator, Events provides comprehensive advice and support for UMSU staff and student representatives in the creative development and effective delivery of a variety of small to large scale events, in line with best practice guidelines.

Your Key Accountabilities will include:

  • Develop, manage and monitor the innovative provision of event services to UMSU staff and student representative departments, supporting the organisation to deliver large-scale events.
  • Provide advice and operational support to staff and student representatives in the pre-event consultation and planning, implementation and evaluation of departmental events;
  • Ensuring UMSU events meet legislative and policy requirements, while internally continually reviewing and refining processes and procedures
  • Providing leadership, development and support to a team of events staff

 

ABOUT YOU

To succeed in this position, you will possess tertiary qualifications in events management or a related discipline, coupled with extensive experience in the field, or a relevant combination of skills knowledge and/or training. A Working with Children Check will also be required.

Essential to your success will be your proven ability to plan, execute and evaluate large scale events from concept to delivery as well as demonstrated ability to effectively lead and work with cross-functional teams.

You are a passionate, outcome driven and compassionate professional with a cert IV in Training and Assessment and keen for students to get more out of their time at the University.

This is a full-time ongoing role (35 hours per week), position with a starting base salary of $ 91,464  plus  12% superannuation.
